Controlled streaming of video over the Internet

Multimedia content transfer over the internet is becoming increasingly important with a large penetration of smart phones PDAs, Laptops and IPTV. The interfaces supporting real-time applications such as Tele-education, entertainment, tele-medicine, remote monitoring and control are consuming a lot of bandwidth. All these applications require reliable streaming of the data over the internet, adhering to the assured Quality of Service (QoS). In this paper, smart streaming techniques exploiting the redundancies in the data are discussed.
