Mathematical-Musical Relationships: A Bibliography

Since the time Pythagoras reputedly discovered a relationship between the length of a vibrating string and the musical harmonic series, scholars have known a connection between mathe-matics and music. Through the course of history, the alliance has been recognized in varying degrees as musicians either looked toward a more scientific view of art or zealously guarded their domain as a field based on intuition and inspiration.
