On the Algebraic Structure of Fuzzy Sets of Type 2 JUHANI NlEMINEN This paper developes the further properties of fuzzy sets of type 2 (fuzzy grades) recently considered by Mizumoto and Tanaka.A class of modular fuzzy grades is constructed and the structure of distributive fuzzy grades is illustrated by means of a spectrum theorem of Plonka.Finally an open problem proposed by Mizumoto and Tanaka on convex fuzzy grades is solved.
