A general multi-objective optimization program for mixed continuous/integer variables based on genetic algorithms

C. M. Kalker-Kalkman · 1997

A method is described for producing optimal Pareto Sets for multicriterion optimization problems. The variables are either continuous or discrete. A genetic algorithm is proposed. Cross-over and mutation methods are discussed. An implementation is described with a graphic interface that enables the user to modify the parameters of the genetic algorithm. Intervals for the variables can also be modified during runtime. As example the design of an externally pressurized bearing is treated.
