ThinkData: a Data Protection and Transparency Awareness Service based on Storytelling

Jean‐Henry Morin, Olivier Glassey · Frontiers in artificial intelligence and applications · 2012

ThinkData is an interactive online service that aims at raising awareness about data protection and transparency within organizations in Switzerland. This service was created by an interdisciplinary group using design thinking techniques. ThinkData was designed with the very pragmatic objective of engaging its users in becoming familiar with data protection and transparency concepts through storytelling. Scenarios can be browsed by activities, by topics and by data types. This paper reports on the design and deployment of this service making the case for the underlying issue of using storytelling as a valuable approach for awareness and training on complex legal issues.
