Abstract—Based upon extensive experience in the use of semantic technologies to integrate structured data from disparate systems, the author recommends a set of best practices for creating IRIs for RDF resources. Particular attention is paid to avoiding unnecessary coreferences in scenarios where data is drawn from a structured, non-semantic source of record, issues that commonly arise in Department of Defense (DoD), Intelli-gence Community (IC), and government contracting scenarios, as well as other common pitfalls.
