Mining periodic patterns in time-series databases.

Periodicity detection is an important temporal data mining problem with different applicability. In this paper, we raise a problem of periodic sets detection and suggest the method for its solution. Several existing algorithms for the mining of periodic events are considered in detail and a new approach is proposed in the paper. The comparison of the algorithms and their performance are demonstrated through a series of experiments. 1
