Using Minicomputers To Teach High Level Programming Languages*

The decreasing cost of minicomputers has made them more and more attractive as equipment for teaching programming. This paper first presents some of the advantages of using minicomputers for such teaching. This is followed by a discussion of methods being used at the University of Toronto to implement a pedagogic language translator to run on a minicomputer.
