An Efficient Method to Minimize the Initial Access Time with Cognitive Radio Capability in Wireless Distributed Beaconing Networks

Cognitive radio (CR) rises up one of the most talented technologies to solve the spectrum allocation problem and improve utilization of the radio spectrum resources, since communication technology expands its province and demand for radio resource has been increasing rapidly nowadays. In the CR home networks, CR devices must leave the current channel and re-connect to the other channel if incumbent user appears on the current channel. For that, it is important to quickly organize a new network or join to new network. Therefore, we propose an efficient method to minimize the initial access time for wireless distributed beaconing network with cognitive radio capability. Our mechanism efficiently helps to minimize the initial access time regardless of whether there is a beacon collision or not.
