Firefly-Inspired Synchronicity Algorithm with Self-Adaption Coupling Coefficient

Chuangbo Hao, Ping Song, Xiongjun Liu, Zhiqiang Pan · 2015

Synchronicity is the base of sleep and superframe, used by many protocols in WSN. Distributed synchronicity algorithm become popular in rubust WSN, due to the unstratified topological structure and low computational complexity. The firefly-inspired synchronicity algorithm (FSA), as the typical algorithm of distributed synchronicity, usually needs a large coupling coefficient for accelerating convergence. However, a large coupling coefficient may lead instability and inaccuracy. So, this paper proposes a novel self-adaption coupling coefficient firefly-inspired synchronicity algorithm, aiming at a fast and accurate synchronicity. This algorithm is evaluated by simulation. The results show that it can speed up the time cost by synchronicity process obviously.
