DEVELOPMENT OF INSTRUMENTAL CRITERIA FOR INTENSITY ESTIMATE. SOME STUDIES PERFORMED IN THE FRAME OF A NATO PROJECT

A critical view is presented on the state of the art of instrumental criteria specified by macroseismic inte nsity scales. A different, analytical, system of instrumental criteria (alternatively, global or frequency related) is presented. The results of analysis of a set of records, using alternatively macroseismic criteria and instrumental criteria recently deve loped, are presented in graphic terms. Conclusions and recommendations are finally presented.
