One of the important elements is the expression of natural objects including trees in real-time simulation system such as game with a wide terrain as the background. However, it is difficult to produce and express newly every time the required tree models suitable for the systems. To alleviate the above-mentioned problem, we presents a modeling method that generates the realistic and various trees adaptive for real-time systems. The method can be used more intuitively and efficiently in the real-time systems by combining and simplifying self-organizing process and the fractal-based recursive hierarchy for branch growth. Also, we define the interactive control elements to generate naturally the various tree models and additionally propose a GPU-based LOD scheme of branch surfaces and an instancing method for rendering a number of complex trees efficiently in real-time systems. And, it's efficiency is confirmed through the simulation and the performance test.
