Extension of Service Architecture and Component of Inference Engine Based on Component Object Model

In this paper, we describe the design and implementation of a inference engine that has the following characteristics. First, being designed according to the Component Object Model, it maintains compatibility with other systems based on the Component Object Model. Second, having the feature of OLE automation server, it provides OLE controller with extensible inference interface. Third, adopting ODBC interface, it makes it easy to access heterogeneous DBMS. Finally, storing multi-domain knowledge base, it is capable of selecting domain and efficient inference. The contribution of this paper is component of inference engine based on COM/OLE architecture to build an efficient service reusability of expert system.
