A FAST CONVERGENCE ALGORITHM FOR FRACTAL IMAGE DECODING

A new fast fractal image decoding algorithm was proposed based on the contrast factors shrinked through setting some thresholds for the codebook.The experiment results showed that the algorithm could gain a higher quality of decoding image after the first iteration decoding than the baseline fractal decoding,accelerate obviously converging in contrast to the baseline fractal decoding with a less degradation of the decoding image,and then was preferably content to the case of superfast image decoding applications(e.g.,real-time video transmission).
