a New Subdiscipline of Linguistic Science-Natural Language Processing

The desire for the computer to possess the ability of human language has driven language sciences to be combined with computer science,thus a new interdiscipline,which has different definitions and naming from different disciplinary perspectives.In this article the author discusses the new subject of natural language processing from the science of language perspective,covering the concept,the development and current status of natural language processing with emphasis on the discussion of the significance and methods of natural language processing.
