Frame Erasure Concealment Techniques of ITU-T Embedded Variable Bit-Rate Speech Coding

Maoshen Jia · Audio Engineering · 2007

The frame erasure concealment in ITU-T G.729.1 speech coding standards is introduced. This frame erasure concealment(FEC) is designed for the embedded variable bit-rate speech codec. It is performed at the decoder by making use of the transmitted concealment/recovery parameters. Efficient concealment and recovery techniques including glottal pulse resynchronization, energy control and artificial onset reconstruction are used. The experiment shows that it′s an effective method to remove the bad effects which caused by frame erasure.
