Prolong the Life of Electrolytic Capacitors with Tab Terminals

Electrolytic capacitors with tab terminals, especially those for high voltage, are apt to fail in the course of life test. The failure causes and mechanism are analyzed. To prolong the life, the cover material should be carefully chosen and full hermetic structure should be used to prevent the free chloride ions.
