Construction of Specialized Corpus and Its Application in Machine Translation

The effect of corpus (particularly the bilingual corpus) has become prominence day by day in the research of language information processing. Machine Translation (MT), as a branch of the language information processing research, improves the accuracy of the translation by using corpus technology. Therefore, the set up of the corpus and its application in MT are very important. This paper mainly introduces the process of setting up Chinese-English parallel corpus on some professional fields (such as automation and computer), and describes its application based on statistical machine translation.
