Analysis on pattern matching algorithm for intrusion detection

For the implementation of Intrusion Detection System(IDS), the key module is the data analysis module of the detection engine. For the rule-based IDS, pattern matching algorithms are very important. They directly influence the accuracy and real-time performance of IDS. Some single accurate pattern matching algorithms and multination matching algorithms such as Brute Force algorithm, Knuth-Moris-Pratt algorithm, Boyer-Moore algorithm, Boyer-Moore-Horspool algorithm, Aho-Corasick algorithm and Aho-Corasick_Boyer-Moore algorithm are studied.
