Human Evaluation of Machine Translation Quality in E-C Text Translation

Using the English version of ISO 9001:2000 issued by International Standardization Organization as the testing corpus,the authors make a human evaluation of the English-to-Chinese text translation quality of the five popular machine translation softwares in accordance with the requirements forthe adequacy,fluency and ac- curacy of the translationas prescribed by the National Standard for Target Text Quality Requirements for Transla- tion Services and help the professional translators choose the most workable translation softwares.
