Study on Simulation of Altitude-entropy Terrain-matching Methodology

A new approach is proposed based on measurement of altitude-entropy to carry out terrain-maching locating by the combination of terrain blocking, continuous searching, dynamic threshold, rough matching and exact matching. Altitude-entropy method has its own individual advantage, especially for the complicated zone topography. Technical outline of the methodology is proposed. MATLAB is used to simulate the methodology. Method of building terrain dates for simulation and the simulation process are given. Simulation results testified that the approach can be quite accurate.
