How to find useful knowledge from huge amount of information has become a difficult task.A possible solution is the application of Web mining.Web mining is a technology aimed at discovering the access pattern and hidden information from the huge collection of documents plus hyperlink information,access and usage information.This paper first compared Web mining technology with some related research issues,and introduced its concept and categories.Then,the Web content mining,Web structure mining,and Web usage mining were discussed from their definitions,contents,research status.Finally the research trend of Web mining in future was described.
