Image Authentication Method Based on SVD and Secure Hash Function

In order to enhance the security and uncertainty of the image authentication system and effectively prevent collusion attack, a semi-fragile watermarking algorithm based on singular value decomposition (SVD) is proposed. In this algorithm, watermark images are encrypted by secure Hash function based on message-digest algorithm 5(MD5). Experiments demonstrate that the proposed scheme is highly sensitive to the distortion of the images and resistible to common image processings, such as median filtering, JPEG compression, etc, and keys are required during the course of image authentication, greatly improving the security of the system.
