Effects of Atorvastatin and Fluvastatin on contents of ALT and AST in plasma of mice

Objective To study the effects of Atorvastatin and Fluvastatin on AST and ALT in plasma of mice.Methods Sixty Kun Ming mice(20±2g),were randomly divided into Atorvastatin group,Fluvastatin group and control group.The groups were respectively given orally Atorvastatin 5mg·kg-1,Fluvastatin 10mg·kg-1 and the same volume of normal saline.ALT and AST contents in plasma of mice were determined after four weeks.Results Compared to the Control group,AST level in Atorvastatin group has increased significantly and the levels of ALT in Atorvastatin group and AST and ALT in Fluvastatin group all had no obvious increase.Conclusion Atorvastatin(5mg/kg)can increase the level of AST in plasma of mice,however Fluvastatin(10mg/kg) has no obvious effect.
