On the Compilation and Application of the English-Chinese Parallel Corpus of IT Text

In order to compile an IT parallel corpus,we need to collect the IT corpus mainly from the IT specialized companies' websites,customers brochures and product manuals both at home and abroad. The IT parallel corpus has been compiled finally after we finished selecting,tagging,and aligning the English and Chinese IT texts. Some typical characteristics of IT parallel corpus have been put forward after we have done the quantitative analysis on the IT parallel corpus. There are a variety of applications of the IT parallel corpus,which can not only provide objective and abundant original corpus for IT language research,but also be used for teaching and IT dictionary compiling. A parallel corpus-based case study of translation practice illustrates the IT parallel corpus' s great strength.
