Motion estimation algorithm based on square-diamond using successive elimination

Based on prediction of searching starting-point and square-diamond search algorithm,combining with the successive elimi-nation algorithm,a new motion estimation algorithm is proposed,which is based on square-diamond using successive elimination.The results show that this method can obtain almost the same peak signal to noise Ratio(PSNR) as full search algorithm at very low computation cost.It outperforms both the diamond search algorithm and square-diamond search algorithm at search points and search precision.
