Stationary Node Distribution of Random Waypoint Mobility Model in Ad-hoc Networks

Liu Yan-qin · Journal of Hebei Polytechnic University · 2010

Stationary node distribution of random waypoint model in ad-hoc networks is studied by the tools of palm calculus.Analytical solutions are obtained for probability density function of node distribution in the model, especially in both one-dimensional range and two-dimensional circular region. Results show that when the stationary regime of model is achieved, nodes will appear near region center with much higher probability, while it is low when nodes approach region boundary. The transient procedure within which nodes distribution becomes nonuniform gradually from uniform one impairs validity and credibility of simulation.
