Global Positioning System technique is widely used to monitor all kinds of buildings and constructions′deformations.According to the characteristics of the high precise GPS deformation monitoring, the theory and practice of the SSDM(Similar Single-Difference Methodology) for GPS deformation monitoring are introduced synthetically from the following six aspects. The backgrounds of the SSDM are introduced in the first part, the essential mathematic model is given in second parts. The error sources and control measurement are analyzed in the third, the monitoring schemes adopting the SSDM Methodology are introduced in the fourth part. The software is simply introduced in the fifth part and the important conclusions are summarized in the last part.In this paper, some arguments are given in mode of reference literatures.
