With the rapid development of information technology, The network security obtains the people unprecedented attention. For network security protection, the traditional passive defense has been unable to meet the needs of the people, honeypot technology as a proactive protection technology to make up for the traditional system. In this paper, we give a more systematic explanation about honeypot technology from definitions, classifications and related technology, and pointed out the issues of honeypot technology, and explore the development trend of the future.
