Study on the Decaying Wave Feature of Floating Breakwater

Based on analysis of the mechanism and the influencing factors of decaying wave, the decaying wave effect of floating breakwater is predigested to a kind of nonlinear function. Because of the characteristics of artificial neural network (ANN), which are suitable for dealing with nonlinear and stochastic problems, an ANN model for transmission coefficient, which is an important parameter of weakening wave effect, is set up. The feasibility of this model is verified by experimental data of a variety kinds of floating breakwaters. The results show that ANN model for transmission coefficient has better simulation and prediction effects.
