Simulation of NS-2 Based PIM Sparse Mode and Dense Mode

Multicasting is a technology that can send data to multiple receivers in an efficient and extendable way.Multicasting routing protocols transfer the packet by establishing multicast routing protocols.This paper focuses on the basic theorem of two intra-domain multicast routing protocols PIM-SM and PIM-SM theory and their simulations in NS-2 are focused on.With the simulation experiment results,the effect of multicast routing protocols,network topology,multicast group size and the number of multicast groups to the performance of multicast network are analyzed.
