Educational Hypermedia and Usability Testing

Andrew Prosser · International Journal of Foreign Studies · 2015

The success of interactive educational multimedia in delivering the kind of enhanced, learner-controlled environments envisaged is not always being fulfilled because designers, ironically, often fail to consider the actual needs and capabilities of the learner. Using the example of the development of a set of educational hypermedia for an academic listening course, this paper argues that iterative usability testing, may be a means to arrive at a user-centered, contextually relevant approach to hypermedia design.
