A Comparative Study on Metadata Systems of Digital Archives at Home and Abroad

The concept,functions and types of archival metadata are introduced,then the background,construc- ture,application and characteristics of some kinds of common archival metadata systems throughout the world, such as EAD,ISAD(G),ISSAAR(CPF),EAC,TEI and Chinese Archives Description Rules,are summarized and comparised,and then the differences and relations between Chinese Archives Description Rules and EAD are analyzed,at last,a few suggestions on establishing Chinese digital archives metedata system are put forward.
