Throughput and energy-efficiency analyses of opportunistic cooperative ARQ protocol with amplify and forward in WSN

An opportunistic cooperative ARQ protocol with amplify and forward(AF) relaying is proposed,which obtains high system energy efficiency with reliable transmissions.The system throughput of the proposed protocol is discussed based on a Markov model,and another model for analyzing system energy efficiency is also proposed.Monte Carlo simulations demonstrate that the results derived from theoretical analyses are consistent with that of practical scenario simulations;the results also show that the proposed protocol performs better than the traditional ARQ protocol in terms of system throughput and energy efficiency.
