The implementation of NCO based on improved CORDIC algorithm

Function generator is most essential factor of the numerically controlled oscillator(NCO) performance which is widely used in signal processing.The theory of Coordinate Rotations Digital Computer(CORDIC) algorithm and the traditional look-up table ROM method was introduced at fi rst.In order to improve the rate of calculation and to reduce resource occupation,a improved CORDIC algorithm was proposed to be applied on NCO.The emphasis is put on an improved CORDIC algorithm for faster operation.The simulated result of Quartus II shows that the given theory is eff icient.
