Power Allocation for Cooperative Relay Networks Based on RTS/CTS Protocols
Haitao Liu · Jisuanji fangzhen · 2009
Considering the amplify-and-forward (AF) cooperative relay networks applying distributed linear dispersion codes, a simple and practicable distributed power allocation scheme based on Ready-to-Send (RTS )/ Clear-to-Send (CTS) protocols on MAC layer was proposed. The source and all relay nodes compute their optimal transmitting power by themselves without feedback from a handling center, which is prone to implementation. Two algorithms were proposed based on bottleneck effect and harmonic mean of relay channel strength to decrease the system outage probability. The simulations show that these two algorithms proposed exploit the diversity gain of distributed linear dispersion codes, so as to not only decrease the system outage probability, but also improve the bit-error probability (BEP) performance at the destination. The scheme proposed has a very strong practicability.
