A Novel Wideband Direction Finding Algorithm for Weak Signals Based on Orthogonal Projection Transformation

In order to estimate weak signals directions correctly in presence of strong jamming for wideband beamforming system,a novel direction finding algorithm for weak signals based on orthogonal projection transformation is proposed. A projection matrix which is equal to orthogonal complement subspace of jamming subspace is constructed to preprocess the multi-beam frequency data. Effect of strong jamming on weak signals is suppressed. Analysis and simulations show that jamming could be suppressed by the proposed algorithm effectively,DOA estimation of nearby weak signals could be received,and resolution probability of weak signals is improved.
