New Progress and Trends of Measurement Theory
LE Meiling · Zhongguo kaoshi · 2012
The rising of modern measurement theory, represented by multidimensional item response theory and cognitive diagnostic theory, reflects the fact that people are no longer content with a single test score, but demand more specific diagnostic information. The combination of measurement theory and education assessment sparks the research on value-added assessment, computerized adaptive testing and computer-adaptive multistage testing. Most of the advanced research including cognitive diagnosis models and cognitive diagnostic computerized adaptive testing, still remain in the stage of theoretic research; but it is unquestionable that with the progress in research as well as the ever increasing need in practice, this new generation of measurement theory would soon play a crucial role in education and other fields.
