Design of TERCOM Algorithm Based on Image Layered-Searching

A seafloor terrain contour matching(TERCOM) algorithm based on image layered-searching is designed.The distinguishing sequence algorithm in image layered-searching is applied to accelerate TERCOM by dividing the terrain map to three layers.Furthermore,a comparing logic is construced between the second and third layer.By this means,matching rate is increased and false matching is decresed.The algorithm is verified by using practical water depth data of certain seafloor.Simulation results show that it can obtain higher precision with somewhat robusticity.
