Network coding and its application for optical multicast

Multicast applications have become an important issue for the optical network bandwidth resources.Network cod-ing can improve the utilization of bandwidth resources,the throughput of network,and balance the traffic load of the net-work.The network coding,the cost of coding and the problem of traditional routing are discussed in the paper.Further-more,the network coding technology is introduced into the optical multicast to optimize the optical multicast routing,to in-crease the throughput of network,and to improve the network resources utilization.
