A symbol level equalizer based CDMA receiver

Multipath channel will destroy the orthogonality of the spreading sequences.As a result,the performance of conventional Rake receiver will degrade significantly especially when short spreading codes are used.In this paper,we propose a novel symbol level equalizer receiver based on Rake.The optimal equalization weight matrix is derived according to Minimum Mean Square Error criteria.Simulation results show that the proposed receiver can mitigate multipath interference efficiently and achieve better performance compared to conventional Rake receiver.
