Linguistic Schematic Cog-network on Non-literal Idioms

The linguistic schematic cog-network of non-literal idioms is proposed as the theoretical prerequisite based on Langacker’s linguistic schematic trinity theory and Gibbs’ direct access model on the classification of idioms.Then seven categories of idioms under this framework are taken as descriptive applications in order to confirm that linguistic schemata play a vital role in the acquisition of idioms.
