Investigation and Analysis on the Scientific and Technological Novelty Search Stations of Ministry of Education

This paper surveys the scientific and technological novelty search stations of Ministry of Education in 84 Chinese universities through questionnaires and website-visiting. Then it gives a statistic analysis of the collected data about geographical distribution,resources,personnel allocation with SPSS 6.0. The study shows that local economic situation affects the development of novelty search stations; digital-resources sharing have been established; novelty-search professionals have increased, novelty searches are on the rise and modern information technology have been applied widely.
