Diagnosis and treatment of fat embolism syndrome

Objective To study the diagnosis and treatment of fat embolism syndrome.Methods Forty-one cases of FES patients were reviewed.Statitics and analysis were made about the frequency of the clinical manifestation,and the results were compared with formerly relative medical documents.Results All the patients manifested disturbance of consciousness,hemorrahgic spots of skin and mucous membrane,fever.Only 3 patients manifested “snow storm sign” of lung.1 case died,“vegetable” in 2 cases.Conclusion Disturbance of consciousness,hemorrahgic spots of skin and mucous membrane,fever are dependable or main diagnostic indices.With the development of medical treatment and as we know more and more about FES,the cure rate of FES can be increased evidently.
