Objective:To investigate the effect of atorvastatin on myloperoxidase(MPO) and protiferator activator receopter(PPAR)γ expressed by of monocytes and its mechanism. Method:Monocytes activated by lipopolysaccharide were intervened by different concentrations atorvastatin. RT-PCR was used to investigate the effects of atorvastatin on the expression of MPO and PPARγ. Result:Pretreatment of monocytes with atorvastatin markedly decreased the expression of MPO with a concentration-dependent manner; the expression of PPARγ in them increased also with a concentration-dependent manner. Conclusion:Atorvastatin may have the effects of anti-inflammation and anti-oxidation through suppressing MPO and inereasing PPARγ expression of monocytes partly.
