The impact of angle and distance on relay selection in angle cooperation routing protocols of wireless sensor networks is considered through simulation and a serial of Zigbee experiments. The interruption probability of the angle random forwarding cooperative routing protocol under relay nodes with various angles and distances is firstly simulated. The distance between a source node and a destination node, which is measured based on the principle of RSSI ranging and relay nodes deployed with various angles and distances,is indirectly obtained with the consideration of the Gaussian model. The analysis of the comparison between simulation and experimental results demonstrates that both angles and distances of overhearing nodes have an impact on selection for best relay nodes.
