Design and Analysis of Ultra Narrow-Band Filter in FPGA

Ultra narrow-band filter is a key component in pulsed Doppler(PD) radar receiver.Besides the narrow transition band width,it also requires high stop-band attenuation and low pass-band ripple.This paper presents optimal parameters of interpolated finite impulse response(IFIR) filter for single-rate narrow-band filter and derives cascaded integration comb(CIC) performance curves for decimation narrow-band filter.The comparison of resource consumption is given afterwards based on actual FPGA implementation.Optimal resource consumption and performance ratio will be attained by utilizing the method proposed in this paper.A narrow-band filter module using CIC IP core is presented to prove the advantage of the method in practical circumstances.
