Blind adaptive multiuser detection (MUD) is a key technology in code division multiple access (CDMA) system to cancel multiple access interference (MAI). The convergence rate of conventional blind adaptive MUD algorithms based on minimum output energy (MOE) is not very satisfactory. This paper presents a novel blind MUD algorithm using the recently proposed canonical representaion of multiuser receivers and the Kalman filtering algorithm. Theoretical analysis and numerical results show that the new algorithm has fast, stable convergence rate and better tracking performance in asynchronous CDMA systems compared with blind adaptive MUD algorithms based on the least mean square (LMS) algorithm and the recursive least square (RLS) algorithm.
