The Computer-Aided Extraction of Sign Language Morphemes

Sign language is the first language for the deaf.This study aims to use a self-designed computer program to extract phonemes from the Beijing-style sign language,by imitating the contrastive method of extracting phonemes from vocal language.A total of 653 gestures and 33 gesture-based morphemes are extracted from 911 commonly-used Beijing-style sign language words.
