Analysis of Garden-Path Sentences from Construction Grammar Perspective

Garden-path sentence is a kind of special syntactic phenomenon,it may cause partial、 temporary ambiguity.Within the framework of construction grammar,according to different construction requiring different argument structure and semantic collocation,and considering the bases of the garden-path sentences ambiguities,this paper analyzed three kinds of garden-path sentences.It concluded that the garden-path effects were caused by the argument structure ambiguity,and pointed out the methods to solve the three kinds of garden-path sentences ambiguities.
